Is it Real? |
Why the beach glows in the dark? Is it a scientific phenomenon or a photoshop ?
This is not photoshop , it is a naturally occurring phenomenon on the beach. The bioluminescence plankton or glow is caused by tiny little organisms which float in the under layers of sea beds and warm lagoons. When contacted or agitated by eternal forces ( can be oxygen, a wave, ship , even your hands!) they glow and emit a dense blue light from their tiny cells.
Bioluminescence Caused by ostacod crustaceans also known as seed shrimp
This amazing view does not happen only in Maldives but there are a few more places
around the world where you can go and see this incredible view ( San Diego in California ( due to
algae), Cortez Beach in Florida and many more )
